- So cool! Got this as a gift and it was bigger than expected. Someone said it earlier - but the reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the section on ouija boards and spirits. Not only is this problematic for children of various religious backgrounds, but also for children in general.
- Overall this book is excellent - the pictures, the content, the excitement that jumps off of every page. One of our favorite things about this book is how it has inspired questions and discussions between our children and my wife and I about various subjects. We love seeing our kids learning about not only new things but also things that really fascinate them and excite them about life.
With that said we also have come across subjects that have not been age-appropriate and maybe not at all appropriate for certain households. There was a section about necromancy, ouija boards, haunted houses, palm reading, tarot cards, and the likes. There also have been other sections where we had to use the power of distraction or skim over some things for the kids. Not sure why or how these random subjects happened to find themselves in this book but they are there. Most of the book is great and has interesting content about animals, nature, senses, etc. I'm just writing this review to give other parents a heads up about this too. - The print is very small. Not kid friendly. I think it is better for older kids, in the middle school grades.
- This is my go to gift for children's birthdays. Kids get so many toys and clothes that I always like to try something a bit different. The pictures are colorful and the facts are very interesting and straight forward. I usually buy this for kids 7 and up. That's seems to be a good age fir the reading level.
I had a mom thank me for the gift a few weeks after giving it because she said that the book made her boy excited to read! - My 10 year old son loves this book and all the fun facts in it. There are things about food, animals, history, survival skills, math, human body, robots etc. He loves learning about how things work and why they do what they do and this book covers all that. It is a nice big hardback book and I am impressed at the quality and the price. Very glad I got him this.
- Our office participates in buying gifts for abused children placed in a temporary home. The boy was interested in weird science facts so I purchased a few of these types of books. Of course, when I got them, I had to flip through. )
This book was so much fun. I thought that it would actually be perfect to get for my dad because he is a trivia buff. Excellent book for old and young alike!!! - Be prepaired to hear lots and lots of random facts all day when your child gets obsessed with this book 🙈🙈🙈 No, but seripusly it's a fun book my son really enjoys reading through it and learning something new. We've had this book for a few years now and its still one of his favorites.
